Carla has extensive experience in training and group facilitation with a breadth of knowledge and understanding about the health system. She has experience working with community and not-for-profit sectors with an interest in mental health services.
One unique area of expertise is her specialist knowledge addressing tobacco smoking within socially disadvantaged populations. Her work with the Cancer Council NSW to initiate organisational change to address tobacco and with priority populations drew on her skills in research, consulting and training and allowed her to develop an in-depth understanding in the context of community managed mental health services.
Carla uses her skills and knowledge to create pathways that encourage behavioural changes and generate positive health outcomes. She is always looking at the bigger picture and how she can help an organisation create and implement positive change.
Her passion is undertaking projects that contribute to broad positive health and social outcomes. She likes to keep things well organised and planned out, but she is adaptable and versatile at dealing with unprecedented changes. She is committed to doing what it takes to deliver a great result for her clients and is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn.
Outside of work, Carla loves anything to do with music and dance. She is a member of a local choir and a samba percussion group and enjoys playing music and singing with friends. She loves being outdoors, competing in triathlons and loves swimming at the beach as much as possible – even in the middle of winter! When she needs to unwind it’s with endless cups of tea and chatting with friends, and she looks forward to a relaxed Friday night hanging out with her family.
